Thanks for visiting my blog. I am finally up and running and should have internet access at my apartment by tomorrow evening. There are innumerable things that I could report, but I'll just post some notes I've been making over these first few days.
Here are some basic facts:
- I am teaching at American International School in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I will be helping teach sections of high school English this semester. My apartment and the school are both in an area called Baridhara, which is guarded but access is fairly free.
- Dhaka contains anywhere from 12-14 million people
- The language of all of Bangladesh is Bangla
- The people of Bangladesh are Bangladeshi.
- We are in the end of the wet season, but a couple more monsoons are expected.
- I live with two other newcomers to the school, Jimmy Potter and Sara Page.
